The security laser scanner - now with ROS package
In manufacturing logistics, the PSENscan safety laser scanner offers new possibilities: thanks to the ROS (Robot Operating System) package from the Open Source Framework, PSENscan can, in addition to secure, productive surface monitoring, also be easily used for navigating driverless transport systems (FTS) . With the help of the new ROS packages, you have access to the necessary data that meets the ROS requirements, and thus does not require any additional programming. This includes, for example, a SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) algorithm . Surrounding maps are created for the dynamic navigation so that FTS, for example, can avoid obstacles. You can benefit from a more dynamic and also more secure implementation of mobile applications in production environments. Because ROS is open and modular, it is easy to integrate multiple security laser scanners into existing ROS environments . Applications with PSENscan can be flexibly adapted to customer-specific requirements. Pilz ROS packages meet all industry requirements from the ROS Industrial Consortium and are developed and tested according to Pilz development standards. This means that new software functions can be implemented quickly.
